About the Journal

Bankarstvo, previously called Jugoslovensko bankarstvo (Yugoslav Banking), is a journal with enviable tradition, continuously published since 1971. As of 2012, it has been on the list of scientific journals according to the decision of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, classified as M52 (a journal of national importance) for 2024.

In the period from 1971 to 2003, the Jorunal held the name Jugoslovensko bankarstvo, while the name Bankarstvo has been used since 2003 until today. Since its establisment in 1971, up until 2003, the Journal's publisher was the Association of Jugoslav Banks; as of 2003, the publisher was the Association of Serbian Banks, and as of 2023, the publisher has been the Assoication of Serbian Banks, with the Belgrade Banking Academy - Faculty of Banking, Insurance and Finance, as co-publisher. 

The Editorial Board consists of eminent banking and financial experts, whose direct support helps this Journal achieve the following relevant goals:

  • To leave a trace by processing the current subject matter;
  • To be ahead of time by providing expert presentations of new categories, concepts, financial instruments, banking products and strategies from the broader environment;
  • As a source of reference literature, to be helpful for practitioners and managers in financial institutions, financial sector and economy overall, when they are performing their current tasks and formulating business policies.

Bankarstvo Journal has a publication dynamics of four issues (three regular and one special issue). In 2020 the Journal switched entirely to the electronic edition, available in free access on this webpage. We hope that our Journal will remain an indispensable and helpful reference in your work and professional education. We expect an increasingly fruitful cooperation with our new and current associates, further boosting the quality and readership of our Journal.
